Awaiting last test results

I am waiting to here dads last scan results to give confirmation that the procedure will be going ahead. Hopefully this will be happening tomorrow. If we get it then I will do a larger post tomorrow or Thursday and the blog will start proper.

Sunday

This is just an update. One more test to go and then we are given the green light to start the treatment. This will begin in September. I have been given the first version of the protocol to read and understand. Does not seem that complicated.

Just lots of things happening in a short time that are all quite important.

Update

Have not posted for a while as their was little progress on the kidney front. Since then we have reached the following. The funding has been obtained, the date has been decided and then delayed a further month due to more tests needing to be done. It looks like it will all start in September - as long as tests go well.

I will do a bigger update nearer the time and then keep the blog going with more details.

Carrying on

Have been carrying on the exercise regime. Last Sunday did the Trinty Hill route in under an hour beeting my time by 8 mins. Felt pretty good afterwards.

Ran 6 miles yesterday morning - Asthon Court - a little walking but completed in a hour. Felt fine

Orienteering today at Gare HiLL - came 9 - 18. A couple of stupid navigation errors which cost me at least 7 mins dropping from 3rd to 7th. Terrain was difficult and have slightly swollen knees from the terrain. Hope this does not last.

Not posting

Have not posted for a while - not much medically changing. Still waiting for doctor to organise text re transplant work up. Otherwise things fine, have done quite a lot of orienteering which is fun but hard work.

Also did the Chagford challenge on Dartmoor. I just turned up to walk not knowing what to expect. Had the option of 20,25 or 30 mile walk coarse. Felt pretty good at the decision point and carried on for the 30 mile course. Took 10hours 42 mins - came in last with one other guy and the sweeper. Hard work but fun - the moor was lovely as normal although it did rain for a couple of hours.

Half Marathon

Completed the Bath Half marathon last Sunday. Did it in 2 hours 45 mins, not fast but felt fine all the way around. Half way round I had a decision to make - should I try and do it as fast as I can or should I relax and enjoy it- I took the latter option. Have signed up to do the Windsor half marathon in October.

Dialysis ok over the last week, had one needleing problem last week but it is ok. Used a new site last night up the arm and that worked fine.

Still await news from the Docs.
